7 ways to avoid a broke life in School by Green Chukwuemeka E.

If you're sick of being broke, it's time to take control of your finances! Whether you need to work on your spending habits, learn how to save, or find ways to earn more money, you can find a way to stop being broke. Follow these steps to start working towards financial freedom and better peace of mind.

1. Stop Comparing  yourself to others.
If you're spending beyond your means because you feel that you need to keep up with your friends or show others that you can afford a certain lifestyle, you're not doing yourself any favors. Stop worrying about what others can afford and think about how you can live within your means.

2. Don’t purchase what you can’t afford just to impress.

These days, we are all looking to impress. Looking less is unacceptable in certain parts of the world. While some believe beauty is found within, others believe that beauty is in the Prada you wear and the sports car you drive. So, to impress those who really don’t matter, we spend our money in a department store.

3. Apply for free money.

This tip has worked for me. Apply for free student money–for books, for classes, for tuition, whatever. You would be shocked to see how much money is given away to college kids every year. The trick is finding out about them and then taking the time to apply. Every little bit helps.

4. Use the Internet

Set up a profile on one of the major freelancing websites. Become an affiliate blogger while in college. There are countless ways to make money online in your spare time!
Write articles for websites like; they would reward you.

5. Spend Wisely: You need to protect your money.

Learn that as soon as possible. The sooner you learn this life principle the less time you’ll have to spend wallowing in debt or being broke. Don’t spend tons of money on tiny superficial and pointless purchase at a time.

6. Save: Go into “save money” mode.

Since you’ve decided to master budgeting, dedicate yourself to saving at least 20% of your monthly income.  Put your income into a savings account so you have cash if you need it for emergencies.

7. Minimize chasing Lovers

At the end of the day chasing down lovers is not only time consuming, it costs a fair amount of money. It’s so easy to spend money in an effort to increase your chances, right? Make education and managing your money your top priorities first.
